Traumatic Grief Healing
~ cope with grief and loss in a healthy way.
If you are here, you may have recently experienced a painful loss in your life: you have lost someone you love.
As a Bachelor in Alternative Systems of Medicines, I have studied the systems, strategies, and skills of several theories of psychotherapy and counseling to guide you through this difficult time.
Also, as a Health Coach, I will support you while you review the areas of your life that need nourishment and create the best wellness routines so you can tend to your needs and focus on self-care.
By integrating these approaches, I will create a safe and supportive space for you, where you can take care of yourself while you explore, identify, express constructively, and feel the emotions in your grieving process.
My Story
I was introduced to loss and grief at a very young age, as there were many losses both in the maternal and paternal sides of my family, even before I was born. Growing up, I experienced the loss of loved ones, time and time again, which allowed me to notice every grief process was unique and a deep healing journey in itself.
One of the reasons I chose to become a Bachelor in Alternative Systems of Medicines, was because of its rigorous focus on psychotherapy and counseling and the life areas to be assessed during each treatment. There, I learned an innovative look at emerging and well-established counseling theories as well as the systems, strategies, and skills of the major psychotherapy theories, many of which help in dealing with grief.
In my practice, I integrate this education with my experience as a meditation teacher, to guide you through the confusion, disorientation, and loss of hope you may be experiencing as part of your grieving process.
if your grieving has robbed you of the ability to engage in the normal activities of your daily living, I've created this program for and because of you.
By working together privately, we will:
-
Work through the process of grieving by allowing a safe environment to work through your unique feelings of loss.
-
Understand the normal stages of grief and recognize that the feelings you are experiencing are natural.
-
Focus on specific areas in your life where coping is difficult.
-
Identify strategies and behaviors to help you cope and re-engage in daily tasks.
-
Accept your loss, when the time is right for you.
Also, you may want to consider joining my grief support group or attending one of my retreats, in which you will:
-
Lessen the sense of isolation often experienced after a significant loss.
-
Exchange relevant information with others.
-
Be able to discuss your feelings with others who have had a similar loss, which can help you connect and recognize you are not alone, and your feelings are normal.
-
Boost your mood and help relieve stress by giving you a venue to express emotions that you may keep bottled up.
No matter where in your grieving process you are right now, I am here for you.
My approach
I will never be able to know how deep and intense your pain is, because it is your unique experience of grief, different to anybody else's. But having experienced grief myself, I know what it is like to loose somebody you love.
Right now you might be thinking that this pain is unbearable, how can you survive when it hurts so much? Breathe deeply. You will survive. Your natural grieving process will make sure you do.
Even though there is no right or wrong way to grieve, I have developed a 12-session program I call Traumatic Grief Healing, as a result of many years of studying, working with people looking for a light in darkness, having grieved my own personal losses, and a collection of lessons that people have offered me along the way.
As I hold your hand during the 12 sessions in this program, you will realize things will eventually and in time, find its place in your life; even though you will never return to that innocent state you were in before this happened, you will be able to find different ways to experience peace, acceptance, and appreciation for your life and the lives of those you love.
Coping with grief
Coping with the loss of someone or something you love is one of life’s biggest challenges. Grieving the death of a loved one is often the cause of the most intense type of grief; but any loss can cause grief, including:
-
Divorce or relationship breakup
-
Loss of health
-
Losing a job
-
Loss of financial stability
-
A miscarriage
-
Retirement
-
Death of a pet
-
Loss of a cherished dream
-
A loved one’s serious illness
-
Loss of a friendship
-
Loss of safety after trauma
-
Selling the family home
Whichever your loss, it is personal to you, so don’t feel ashamed about how you feel, or believe that it is somehow only appropriate to grieve for certain things.
Even though nobody can take the pain away from you, during my Grief Healing program, I will walk you through these seven stages that your soul needs to experience in order to process and integrate the pain in your life:
-
Shock or disbelief
-
Denial
-
Bargaining
-
Guilt
-
Anger
-
Depression
-
Acceptance/hope
By walking together, I will help you navigate the emotions that arise due to the pain you experience as a result of separation, as a means for support and orientation during the long haul.
Be patient with yourself; in time, you will find peace of mind.
